Opening Note
Until this case, the working note behind Echo Protocol rested entirely on CASE-0005. Field Documentation logged a routine calibration check at a site with no prior connection to Temporal Research when the instrument recorded a reading eleven minutes before the calibration signal was sent.
Immediate Response
Dr. Elias Ward requested the raw instrument log within two hours of the report reaching Temporal Research — before the anomaly had been flagged as unusual by the technician who filed it. Ward has not explained how he learned of the reading that quickly.
Open Question
If two independent instruments at two unconnected sites register the same kind of impossible interval, the working note stops being a hypothesis about one case and starts describing something the Network has no framework for at all.
